Newcastle Show Day - Limited Library services

Friday 28 February is Newcastle Show Day. Limited Library services will be available. Newcastle City and Wallsend libraries will be open 9.30am-5pm. Normal hours resume on Saturday 1 March. Lambton Library’s Open+ technology will provide access for library members aged 16 and up, and those aged under 16 accompanied by an adult or carer, anytime between 7am and 9pm on Newcastle Show Day.

Return chutes will be open at all libraries (except Lambton). Members can also renew borrowed items online via the Newcastle Libraries app or website.

New Lambton Library temporary closure

We’re excited to announce that New Lambton Library will be getting a fresh upgrade with new carpet! To complete this work, the library will be closed for five days from Monday 24 February, and will reopen on Saturday 1 March.

If you have reserved items waiting for collection at New Lambton Library, don’t worry—we’ll automatically extend your pick-up window by one week. Alternatively, you can call our friendly team at 02 4974 5300 to arrange collection from another branch.

All other branches will remain open with regular hours during this time.
