Picnic Day: Limited services - Friday 28 November
Friday 28 November is City of Newcastle Picnic Day. Limited Library services will be available. Newcastle and Wallsend libraries will be open 9.30am-5pm, Digital Library (Self-Serve): 8.30am – 5pm
Lambton Library (Open+ access): 7am – 9pm. Return chutes will be open at all libraries (except Lambton). You can renew loans and access digital resources anytime via the Newcastle Libraries app or website. -

Big Summer Read - keep kids reading over summer!
The Big Summer Read challenges you to pick up a book and keep reading over the holidays. Anyone between the ages of 0-18 is welcome to participate. The Big Summer Read Challenge runs from Monday 1 December 2025 to Saturday 31 January 2026. -
