Our Collections
Members of Newcastle Libraries can borrow children's, young adult and adult fiction and non-fiction books, as well as a range of other formats including CDs, DVDs, magazines and large print material. Resources for students including the Premier's Reading Challenge books, HSC study guides and research databases are available at all library locations, and loans of community language material can be arranged by your local branch upon request.
In addition to our lending collections, the Local Studies Library maintains a specialised non-lending collection about the heritage and history of Newcastle, as well as digitised collections of photographs, historical publications and family history resources.
A special collection which operates out of our New Lambton library is the Newcastle Toy Library. Open on Saturday mornings the Toy Library allows children to borrow toys for a party, education or just for fun!
If you would like access to information or to find something to read 24/7 then our eLibrary collection is for you. Download eBooks, eMagazines, watch independent films, or learn something new at anytime. Use the search box below to find items at any of our branches as well as in our eLibrary collection.
