Savvy Finance - Online Learning - Financial safety for women
Learn how to identify the signs of financial abuse. Savvy Finance is a free e-learning program consisting of 7 self-paced modules where you will learn to:
- Recognise the early signs of financial abuse and coercive control
- Reduce the risk and material impacts of financial abuse
- Identify avenues of assistance for you and the women in your life
ComputerPals - Newcastle - Where Seniors Master Technology
ComputerPals for Seniors – Newcastle Inc is a Be Connected Network Partner beconnected.esafety.gov.au where Seniors can learn to use Smartphones, Computers & Tablets at whatever level you require. ComputerPals Newcastle is a voluntary group run by Seniors who share an interest in technology. The tech training is offered in small groups to allow personalised learning and one-on-one coaching.
ComputerPals are running one on one and small group tech help sessions at the Newcastle Libraries throughout 2024.
Sessions at Newcastle Libraries (during school term only):
- Tuesdays at Wallsend Library from 10:00 – 11:30am.
- Wednesdays at Adamstown Library from 1:00 – 2:30pm.

Tech Savvy Seniors: Live a Life of Continuous Learning
The Tech Savvy Seniors digital literacy training program offers free online video modules designed to help seniors develop the skills and confidence to get connected and participate in the online world. The program aims to increase digital inclusion, reduce social isolation, and increase access to online information and services among older people. Some videos are available in Arabic, Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and Vietnamese. All videos offer closed captions.

We are excited to offer access to these local courses developed by TAFE NSW and Salvation Army Moneycare to support our community through this challenging time. TAFE NSW courses: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic TAFE NSW, in conjunction with the NSW Government, is offering a number of fee-free short courses that can be completed in just days or weeks, offering practical skills and experiences across a range of industries.
