What Skills do we Need to Understand this Event?
What is the past?
The past is time that is already finished. If something has already happened, then it is in the past!
It could be something from long ago, such as the invention of the steam engine, or more recently, the first-time humans landed on the moon. The past may have just happened, such as having your breakfast this morning.
How do we find out about the past?
We can use different types of relevant information called evidence to help us piece together what has happened in the past. It is a bit like being a detective. Here are some important types of evidence:
