Sustainable Living: Seed Pack and Chat - 'How To Plant From Seed' Zine Making - Wallsend Library

Tuesday 11 August 2026
54 days from now
6 – 7:30pm
1 hour 30 minutes
Get creative by making your own ‘how to plant from seed’ zines - small handmade guides to share gardening knowledge. Copies of the zines will be distributed via the three Seed Library outlets to help build community confidence in growing from seed. Zines will also be donated to Newcastle Libraries’ Zine Collection.

No zine making experience required – we'll be using a simple template. All materials provided but you are welcome to bring old gardening magazines to cut up to create your zine.

Potential topics for your zine could include:
  • How to grow beans (or other vegetable) from seed
  • Companion planting
  • Seasonal planting (Winter)
This is a chance to deepen your gardening knowledge and share with others whilst getting creative!

We’ll also pack seeds for Newcastle Seed Library, a community seed sharing project. You’re welcome to take home some vegetable, herb or flower seeds for your garden.

All welcome.

Ages: Adults/late teens
