Rhinoceros
17: Rhinoceros, Peter Masters 2018
This literally awesome creature is a black African Rhinoceros. There are as few as a thousand of them left on the planet now, mainly due to the depredations of poachers but also somewhat lack of habitat.
Western Plains Zoo does a wonderful job of keeping them on our earth. I think if it were not for the work of zoos, this particular creature would have disappeared completely.
It’s an absolute privilege to sit there a photograph something as magnificent as this. It will be a sad day when they disappear.
