Blue Jar and Pear
15: Blue Jar and Pear, Peter Masters 2020
There are many different elements in this still life that I hope come together harmoniously - walnuts, grapes, a pear, blue and white jar, dried lotus fruit and a pomegranate. All seem to act together to form a visual whole.
This is again based and inspired by the oil paintings of the Dutch Masters. And I think the textural background, the various textures, even the dried red roses, somehow in the end, do work.
The more elements in a still life I think the more difficult it is to compose. This one took several hours and many different ways of setting up before it came to an image that I like.
