Seniors Festival: Stay Smart Online - Wallsend Library

A short course for seniors to develop their media literacy skills to help them avoid and better deal with misinformation, especially online.   

Participants will learn:  

• How to distinguish between different types of information.
• Be conscious of why different media and information is published - and find out how check other sources.
• Be aware of the limits to the information available to you, including the impact of social media algorithms and artificial intelligence models.
• Understand different points of view when encountering information, including your own.
• Generally be an active, engaged, informed citizen in the modern media landscape.
