Author Talk: The Theory of Everything – Yumna Kassab - Newcastle City Library

Newcastle Libraries invites you to join us in welcoming Yumna Kassab, the inaugural Parramatta Laureate in Literature to discuss her genre-defying anti-novel, The Theory of Everything. For this special in-conversation style event, Yumna will be joined by Katherine McLean Director of the Hunter Writers' Centre.

This is Yumna's fifth book and possibly her most innovative and ambitious, in reflecting and casting a light on our current state of political and ecological instability, a resurgence of authoritarianism, misogyny and surveillance.

The Theory of Everything is a “post-novel” composed of vignettes and fragments, parts of stories, poems, and other prose pieces. It presents a kaleidoscopic view of contemporary society - tackling everything from gender and social inequality, to love and war in a fearlessly honest and deeply emotional way.

Copies of The Theory of Everything will be available for purchase and signing at the event, provided by MacLean’s Booksellers.
