If you’re impacted by a disaster, having electronic copies of your essential documents can save you time, worry, and stress.

This practical workshop will cover why document storage matters, which documents are important to keep copies of, how electronic document storage can help people feel more prepared for a disaster and the legal problems that could follow.

The session will include a ‘do it yourself’ activity to start learning how to create electronic copies of documents using one of the four most common storage solutions:

• Using your device (your phone, computer, or tablet)
• Using a USB
• Using the ‘cloud’
• Using your emails

Please bring up to 5 essential documents to practice storing your documents electronically. These could include passport, birth certificate, Australian driver's licence, Medicare card. See the recommended checklist for the full of list of essential documents.

Participants from Newcastle LGA are eligible for a 'go kit' to support personal and household preparedness.
