3D Printing & Scanning

3D printing is changing the world! Newcastle Libraries currently offers a members only 3D print service. Do you have a CAD (Computer Aided Design) you are keen to 3D print?

New to 3D printing? Please email us and our friendly team can help get you started with all you need to know about 3D printing at your library.

Do you have an STL file ready to print? Just email it to us, along with details of what material and colour you would like, and we will provide you with a quote.

Please allow 3 - 4 business days for a reply to your email.

Printing cost:

$8.00 per hour for black high quality Onyx, Kevlar, carbon fibre and fibreglass (Available at Digital Library, 12 Stewart Avenue only).

$4.00 per hour for standard quality PLA printing (Available at Newcastle (City) and Wallsend libraries only). Colours include:

• Black
• White
• Teal
• Lime
• Purple
• Orange

In addition to 3D printing, the Digital Library at 12 Stewart Avenue also has a 3D scanner, which can be used to create a virtual, visual representation of an object. This can then be used as a first step to 3D printing its replica.
